Apophyllite is a mineral composed of potassium, calcium, and silicate that often occurs in a form known as tabular crystals. It is formed in the cavities of volcanic rocks, such as basalt, andesite, and gabbro. The name Apophyllite comes from the Greek “apo”, meaning “away from”, and “phyllon”, meaning “leaf”, because the mineral flakes away easily when heated. Apophyllite has a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale, making it a very soft mineral. It is found in the USA, India, Canada, and Mexico and is a transparent mineral, with a glassy luster. Apophyllite can exhibit a variety of colors, including white, green, yellow, and pink. It is associated with the root chakra and is said to bring clarity to the mind and heart. Apophyllite is a very effective absorber of negative energy, and can be used to clear the atmosphere in a room.

The ankh was an important symbol in Ancient Egypt, representing life and immortality. It was closely associated with the gods and goddesses of the day, particularly Osiris and Isis, and was often used in amulets, jewelry and other religious artifacts. It was believed to be a powerful symbol of protection, granting strength, health and long life.
